    Summary of Qualifications – Teaching & Leadership

    Experienced educator, trainer, and executive-level leader with more than 30 years of leadership, instructional, and organizational development experience in law enforcement, higher education, and military environments. Proven ability to design and deliver leadership-focused instruction for adult learners in classroom, online, and scenario-based settings. Skilled in curriculum development, instructional design, leadership coaching, and organizational training management. Recognized for building collaborative learning environments, mentoring future leaders, and implementing innovative training solutions that improve engagement and performance. Dedicated family man, married since 1999, with two children — one currently attending graduate school and one adult child living with special needs — bringing compassion, patience, and servant leadership to both professional and personal roles.

    • Adjunct Instructor for the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, teaching leadership, decision-making, project management, training management, and contemporary policing courses.

    • Extensive experience facilitating both in-person and online learning using Blackboard Learning System, Canvas Learning System, Articulate 360 Rise, and adult learning principles.

    • Supervised instructional design, curriculum development, and leadership training initiatives for the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training, overseeing development and modernization of more than 120 law enforcement training curricula.

    • Experienced in developing leadership-focused programs emphasizing accountability, ethics, communication, de-escalation, and organizational effectiveness.

    • Led instructor development programs and coordinated executive-level leadership courses for law enforcement professionals across Kentucky.

    • Demonstrated success supervising multidisciplinary teams, mentoring instructors, and managing complex training operations in educational and public safety settings.

    • Served 32 years in the United States Army Reserve in senior command and executive leadership roles, including Battalion Commander and Chief Operating Officer assignments supervising up to 1,300 personnel.

    • Strong communicator with experience in leadership development, media relations, organizational change management, and community engagement.

    • Senior Instructor for National De-Escalation Training Center.

    • Holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice Administration and executive leadership certifications from Liberty University and Northwestern University.
